Working in partnership with the Forestry Commission, the award winning Culture Creative team, will light up the forest to produce a family friendly illuminated trail through the trees - giving people the unique opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of the forest at night.
“Our expertise lies in developing and delivering cultural and creative events in unusual locations that are sympathetic to the landscape and environment,” said Zoe Bottrell, producer and project manager at Culture Creative. “Our aim with The Electric Forest is to provide an alternative experience to main stream events at this time of year and offer one that combines magic and spectacle with more interactive and intimate elements.”
The illuminated walk, which will be approximately 2km in length and take around an hour of walking at a gentle pace, will include sound, music and interactive installations at discreet locations throughout the trail.
“We want it to be a sensory experience involving the sights, smells and sounds of the forest of night so our aim will be to complement this existing atmosphere by adding real visual impact and a sense of spectacle. We also plan to provide a consistent experience whatever the weather,” added Zoe Bottrell.
The visitor’s centre will also be open with catering facilities provided during the event to encourage visitors to stay and make the most of this unique experience.
“We hope that these magical evening walks will offer visitors to Bedgebury Pinetum a unique interactive family experience as the winter nights draw in,” said Rachael Miller, events manager at the Forestry Commission. “Culture Creative has an excellent track record in producing events that are not only spectacular but also sympathetic to the surroundings and most importantly, environmentally sound.”
Culture Creative is also creating an Electric Forest illuminated walk at High Lodge, Thetford Forest Park in Suffolk from 3-19 December, details available at www.electricforest.co.uk
