What with the re-development of the old cinema site now fully in progress, the local Borough Council in Tunbridge Wells which buildings stand opposite have revealed plans to move from the long established Town Hall site.
The Council’s decided move is to become a part of a 10 year re-generation programme for the town, and hopes that the 5, 500 square metre and three storey buildings potential will be used perhaps for retail, but the options for its future use will be decided at a later date.
The remaining parts of the building, the Civic Centre that are in use by the museum, art gallery, and Assembly Hall will not be affected by the Council’s decision to move.
This move is expected to happen within the next seven years, but in the meantime the council is searching for potential sites to relocate to. |
