One of the towns most famous landmarks, the Bandstand in Calverley Park, which has been under threat of demolition for many months now, and caused an unprecedented amount of local support, could be saved?

Its future has dramatically changed in favour of all those who have continually supported it, combined with the protest campaign, which all seems to have swayed those in opposition to its rebuilding and bulldozing, in altering their decision.

With some very good news developing within the Tunbridge Wells Borough Council offices, the officials there are reconsidering their previous plans to demolish it, and it seems very likely, and hoped for by the many hundreds of local residents who want it saved, that they may be in favour of  replacing the old dilapidated one, with a new bandstand.

The Kent & Sussex Couriers own...”Save Our Bandstand” petition, has now amassed a remarkable amount of support with over 2, 100 signatures, all in favour of keeping the famous landmark, which is proving a success story in itself.

One local resident, who has backed the campaign from the beginning, wishes to remain anonymous, has offered a very substantial sum of money to help with the funding of this important feature in the town.

However, before the supporters can rejoice in victory, the very final decision has yet to be reached and is moving up to a higher level of authority, as the propositions and plans for its demise or rebuild, will be discussed and debated within...The Cabinet itself.

Once they have made their mind up as to the bandstand future, which could take many months of waiting, there will be no further appeals, as their decision is final...it will either be a Yes or No!

For the many hundreds of loyal supporters who have waited so long for some hoped for answer from the towns Borough Council, will all have to wait in eager anticipation a lot longer, in hope that the Cabinet will make the very final decision in...Their Favour.

If you want to support this very worthy cause and save the bandstand, don't forget that your signature could certainly help in making all the difference in the final decision, that has yet to be made.

This petition will be submitted to the Councils Planning Department...Make sure that Your name is on the list.

Sign Today, and add your name to the 2, 100 that are already in support of the Kent & Sussex's Couriers...”Save Our Bandstand” Campaign.
