The children also created and named their own Tunbridge Wells dinosaur, and found out about Big Al and the other dinosaurs that will appear in the exhibition.
One of the ambassadors, Katie from St Peter's school explained how she was chosen to become a dinosaur ambassador, 'We had to do a competition for the dinosaur exhibition and we had to draw our favourite dinosaur and I chose to draw an Iguanadon and write some facts about it.'
the children got the chance to touch some of the Tunbridge Wells bones and they saw the film which will feature in the forthcoming exhibition.
Talking about the exhibition, Jo Wiltshire, the project manager for the dinosaur exhibition told me about what people would be able to see, ' The exhibition is celebrating the seventy five anniversary of the discovery of some Iguanadon bones in Tunbridge Wells, so it is a chance to celebrate our local dinosaur, but with a big blockbuster exhibition. The exhibiton is made up of models and macquettes used in the making of the walking with dinosaurs television series, and it opens on the 5th of July.'
If the children's enjoyment today is anything to go on the exhibition should prove to be a big hit with the young and old alike! |
