COUNCIL AWARDED A GRANT FOR SCORES ON THE DOORS SCHEME
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has awarded a Safer Food Better Business (SFBB) grant of 34,000 to Tunbridge Wells Borough Council and its partner councils Sevenoaks, Dartford and Tonbridge & Malling, to provide support with the Scores on the Doors scheme and help caterers improve food safety.

From August 2009, Tunbridge Wells Borough Councillors John Miller and Ronen Basu will hold a joint surgery for residents at the Gateway. The sessions will be held on the last Thursday of every month between 5.30-6.30pm.

Tunbridge Wells Borough Council welcomes the opening of a 3663 First for Foodservice distribution hub on Transfesa Road, Paddock Wood. The catering supply company has merged its Kent operations into one super-depot, which will see the creation of more jobs in the future.
REGISTER OF MEMBERS INTERESTS GOES ONLINE
Tunbridge Wells Borough Council has taken the decision to publish online its Register of Members' Interests. This accessible and transparent service will enable members of the public to access information concerning any declared interests a Councillor may have on the Register.

Tunbridge Wells Borough Council is actively helping small, local businesses in the area to prevent them from struggling in the current economic climate. It has signed up to the Prompt Payment Code, a Government-led initiative which seeks to support businesses that supply councils as quickly as possible.
PLASTIC BOTTLE RECYCLING TO BE REMOVED FROM RECYCLING SITES
Following the implementation of the new household collection scheme for recycling plastic bottles and cans, Tunbridge Wells Borough Council will be removing the large containers for plastic bottle recycling located at various recycling sites across the borough.
