tunbridge Wells Register of Electors 2008

All Tunbridge Wells borough households will shortly be receiving a Register of Electors’ form in the post. It is important to complete and return this form as people can only vote if their name appears on the electoral register.

Residents can use the internet or telephone response service if there are no changes to the details printed on the form. They can return the form by post if they prefer, although this is more expensive. If there are changes to be made to the form, it must be amended and returned in the post.

Staff, carrying official identification, will carry out door knocks in late October to households where no form has been returned.

Cllr Len Horwood, Portfolio Holder for Corporate Services, said:

‘The County Council and the European Parliamentary elections will be held in 2009. If you want to have your vote, make sure you have completed and returned your Register of Electors’ form. Postal votes can be requested when completing the form. I would urge everyone to look out for the Register of Electors’ form and return it to save the Council money and the inconvenience to you of someone calling at your door.’

If residents have not seen the form by the middle of September or they have any queries, they should contact the Elections Team on 01892 554106. The Register of Electors is published on 1 December 2008 and is in effect until 30 November 2009.
