Tickets are just £1 and to be eligible for Superdraw you have to be a member of the regular Air Ambulance lottery, which has a weekly top prize value of £1,000. Lottery manager Lynne Mitchell said: ‘This is very exciting. We are the first small charity to take advantage of the new gaming laws to introduce a big money prize lottery.’
The charity, which runs two helicopters based in Marden and Dunsfold, costs around £3 million a year to keep airbourne. However, it receives no funding from the government or the lottery, instead it is wholly dependent on the generosity of the public. Ms Mitchell said: ‘The lotteries bring in very valuable funds to the Air Ambulance, which makes everyone who is a member, a winner’.
