Kent Police have always been generous in their own support across the county and have been recognized as continually aiding and supporting those who have given to the community, not only their valuable time but also their own personal financial aid to help and assist others.
This was their “reward” for supporting the community from the Kent Police, it was gratefully accepted by each and every one of them as the presenting of the cheques commenced, those who received them were the fortunate few who had the privilege to meet the Area Commander of the West Kent Police himself, personally thanking him for the generous gift they each received.
Six groups each received cheques in recognition of the valuable support they provide to the people of West Kent.
Chief Superintendent Mark Salisbury said: ‘These organisations make a real difference to the lives of local residents and I am proud to be able to support them with a donation that will help them carry on their invaluable work.’
The organisations receiving cheques on the day were:
Bradbourne Group of the Riding for the Disabled Association, Sevenoaks
Jellybeans Pre-School Nursery, Wouldham
D Company, Kent Army Cadet Force (KACF)
Eccles over Fifties Club
Those receiving cheques that could not attend on the day were:
The Beat Project – Trench ward, Tonbridge
The Beat Project – Snodland
It certainly was a special day for those who had received cheques from the Chief Superintendent, all their hard work had been recognized and appreciated, as they left the Police station at Tonbridge their delight was evident by the excitement and smile on their faces. These few who had given their best to assist others in a community spirit, were generously rewarded for their honourable work.
